How are Tidy Teach units different from other school furniture available?
Tidy Teach exists because we saw the school storage units out there and thought, we can do better.
We ensure all our units are three things: durable, unique and safe.
To do this we designed all our units from the ground up. We use better panels, stronger fixings and tougher wheels. This means you can focus on teaching and not worry about classroom clutter.
Safety is so important in the classroom. Our units have been extensively tested in a accordance with BS EN: 16121:2013.
We also offer strong colour choices with plain units for the most vibrant of looks. You won’t find any pale woodgrain panels here.
What is a wall configuration?
Each of our units has been designed so they can work together. They have a consistent depth and hight so they can be placed next to each other along a wall.
Are the units delivered ‘flat-packed’?
Our units are constructed in our factory setting by qualified joiners. This is so you have confidence in getting a quality storage unit that will last. They arrive at the school fully constructed. The only requirement is the unit is securely attached to the wall before being used.
Is there any assembly required?
A tiny bit of assembly is required.
If your units have doors you will have to screw on the handles (they are removed during delivery so they don’t get bashed).
Tall units will need the shelves putting into place.
But most importantly, the tall, static and docking units must be securely attached to the wall. This is to avoid the unit overturning. Documentation and guidance on how to properly secure the unit are provided in the manual. If you have any questions be sure to contact us.
What is the finger guard on the doored units?
Have we mentioned we want our units to be as safe as possible?
We were not happy with the typical hinges on other storage units. We thought more could be done to protect against fingers getting trapped.
So we invented our own safety feature.
A custom developed plastic channel, which covers the gap between the door and the exterior unit. This reduces the space so a child’s fingers cannot fit in the area at risk on trapping.
Any gap between 7mm – 25mm is considered a hazard for trapping a child’s fingers according to BS EN: 16121:2013.
This finger guard can only be found on Tidy Teach units and we are very proud of that.
